2022 Welcome Fair FAQ's 8/12/2022

King Welcome Fair FAQ’s

What is the purpose of the Welcome Fair?

This is our first opportunity of the year to come together as a community. Come hear about volunteer opportunities, school programs, academic supports, and to pick up your student’s class schedule. Student-led tours show new students how to find their first class of the day.

What if I can’t make my designated time slot?

The time slots are meant to distribute the traffic throughout the day. Please come when it fits your schedule but preferably within the time block for new students or returning students.

What if I can’t make it at all?

Anyone who cannot attend the Welcome Fair can come to the main courtyard starting at 8:00AM on the first day of school to pick up their student’s schedule and to complete the other registration tasks. Alternatively, a parent can send a different adult as long as that person can complete the emergency contact information in Infinite Campus.

Do I need to buy anything at the Welcome Fair?

There are no required purchases. Sweatshirts will be available for $20, and you can pre-pay for your yearbook at a discounted rate. Card payments are preferred for both.

Do I need to bring anything to the Welcome Fair?

Gather the information you’ll need for your student’s Emergency Care card (student’s doctor, dentist, insurance info, secondary emergency contacts, etc.)

My student will not be eating school lunch, why am I required to fill out a lunch application form?

The district receives reimbursement for meals for any student who might qualify for free or reduced lunch.

Will I be able to sign up for after-care at the Welcome Fair?

Yes, staff will be there to answer questions and enroll students in the afterschool program.

Will my student(s) be able to meet their teachers?

The teachers have only one paid day to get their classrooms ready so they won’t be available.

Will we be able to tour the school?

Yes! Tours led by seasoned upperclassman will be available until 12:30pm.

How do I get involved as a volunteer?

Thank you for asking! Please sign up here to help out.

But wait, there's more!
