FALL FEST 10.19.24

The annual King Middle School Fall Festival is happening this Saturday!

Saturday, October 19, 12-4pm

on the King blacktop by the gym!

Join us! This is the one all-school event of the year where kids and parents/caregivers can just hang out and socialize. Come for lunch, stay for the fun!

This event will be run by our students and US, their parents, as a way to share what we are doing, and to build our King community. The PTA has been very busy behind the scenes! Things we still need:

  • VOLUNTEERS - click here to sign up!

  • (Especially if your child is involved with a club or sports team on campus, let us know what booth or activity you’d like to help with. Also, check with your student to see if they are part of a group raising funds at the festival.)

  • Apples for our cider press (the Edible School Yard trees did not provide this year!) - drop off at the ESY Kitchen anytime this week or on Saturday morning

  • Lemons for lemonade - also can be dropped off at the ESY Kitchen

  • Halloween costumes and dress-up accessories for the drama department's costume swap - bring on Saturday morning!

  • Usable toys/games/stuffies for the 6th grade leadership club's toy swap

This year, we’ll still have free hot dogs and veggie dogs (thank you Grillmaster William Gomez!) as well as salad!

We’ll also have other great food options as fundraisers for our student clubs, such as pizza & baked goods (8th grade spring trips), rice triangles (Asian Pacific Islander Club), shaved ice & Mexican corn (Latinos Unidos). And for the first time, we’ll also have Tacos Bautista, led by a King alumni and father of a King 6th grader! (Be sure to bring some cash.)

DJ Hightop will be back by popular demand, spinning tunes and pumping the kids up, while our sports teams will run activities, like basketball, volleyball, kickball, a high jump demo, lacrosse workshop, and cornholing. There will be craft tables aplenty. We’re also bringing back the climbing wall!

Rumor has it that they may even be a Thriller flash mob by our budding dance program. And so much more...
